Chiropractic for congenital conditions?
Many people visit chiropractors for spine, neck, disc and other “pain” complaints. Yes, chiropractic works well for those, getting millions of people back to health, work, ease and comfort without drugs or surgery.
But what chiropractic really is all about is improving body function on many levels. Chiropractic is an excellent method of releasing deep stress from your body structure and nervous system so that your body and mind will function better.
That translates into an improved immune system, more energy, better detoxification ability, better healing ability, better ability to concentrate, study, walk, run, sleep, etc. No matter what disease or condition a patient may have, they will be better off if they include chiropractic care in their healthcare regime.
In this newsletter you’ll read of a four-year-old girl with a serious congenital (born with) condition who was helped with chiropractic care. Why is this so important? It shows that chiropractic can help anyone and everyone who has a skeletal system and a nervous system. You see, the chiropractor wasn’t “treating” her for her condition; he was locating and correcting severe stress in her body known as a subluxation.
Everyone and anyone can have a subluxation and if they do, they won’t function as well as they could; they will be less able to fight off any disease and have less natural healing ability.
People often ask, “Can chiropractic help a person with this condition or that condition?” The answer is always “yes.” Everyone needs to see a chiropractor and especially children so that they can start living lives free of stress they may have gotten from birth trauma, falls, accidents, emotional stress and all kinds of things that can happen on “planet trauma.” That is, this earth.
Measles epidemic?
What an interesting coincidence: the US government admits that this year’s flu vaccine is worthless (later they said it’s nearly worthless with an effectiveness rate of 23%). Even that was a powerful admission. So the pharmaceutical companies are looking at $billions in potential profits down the drain. Suddenly there’s a measles epidemic!
Maybe we’re wrong but then again, how many epidemic scares have we seen in the past few years, all of them never turning into an epidemic? Let’s see: there was heterosexual AIDS that was going to kill a quarter of the population. Never happened. There were the swine flu, SARS, bird flu, H1N1 flu, then Ebola a few months ago (even disappeared in Africa). And this is only a partial list! As George Carlin once said, “Americans scare easily.”
But who can blame them when the “experts” tell us all these terrible things are going to happen if we don’t get vaccinated? The fact that they’ve been wrong every time doesn’t matter; people freak out.
So let’s discuss measles. In this nation of over 300 million how many cases of measles have been reported? A little over a hundred! No deaths. Some epidemic.
But how do we know it was really measles these kids had? Were the cases laboratory confirmed? If laboratory confirmed, was the measles wild-type or from the vaccine?
These are very important questions because in one study of thousands of kids diagnosed with measles only about 1 in 40 really had measles. The rest had conditions that looked like measles but weren’t: "97.5% of the time doctors diagnose measles they are wrong." That’s right, the MDs were wrong 97.5% of the time. (1)
Surprise! As of this writing we have no idea if the measles cases were laboratory confirmed. There is suspicion that if the kids got measles it was from recently vaccinated children shedding measles virus.
How dangerous is measles? Most adults today who were born before 1965 got measles and have lifelong immunity as a result. Measles is a relatively benign (i.e. mild and harmless) disease that has been found to leave a stronger, healthier child in its wake.
How dangerous is the measles shot? It’s been linked to autism, allergies, asthma, ADD, ADHD, immune system disorders, encephalitis and many other serious health problems. In fact, more children have died from the measles shot than from the measles. When properly managed measles is no more than a few days off from school.
A logical person would take a chance with the measles and avoid the shot. But with vaccination we’re usually dealing with emotion, not logic. Hence, the media mania about this mild condition that is really good for you.
Shining your light with chiropractic
Chiropractors correct subluxations that are distortions in the body that interfere with the nervous system and stress the entire body. Another way of defining subluxations is as follows: sub - less than, lux - light. Subluxations give us less light.
See your chiropractor to correct your subluxations so you may radiate your light as strongly as you can.
Cholesterol – doesn’t cause heart disease but …
Cholesterol doesn’t cause heart disease; over half of all people who have heart attacks have normal or low cholesterol. Cholesterol is anti-inflammatory – it fights inflammation, which is the real cause of cancer, heart disease and other chronic diseases. (2)
In fact, higher cholesterol later in life is a predictor of a healthier brain. Higher cholesterol has been linked to better cognitive performance and resistance to dementia in the elderly. (3-4)

The advisory panel for nutrition guidelines in the US might drop its warning about eating cholesterol-heavy food, something Americans have been warned about for decades.
Researching Chiropractic
There seems to be no end to the conditions that respond to chiropractic care – physical as well as psychological conditions.
That is because chiropractic does not “treat” a particular condition. Chiropractic care “treats” or, more accurately, “corrects” a serious interference to brain, nervous system and energy function known as the subluxation.
No matter what condition you or a loved one may have, you and they will always function better when free from subluxations. Chiropractors are uniquely trained to locate and correct subluxations. Enjoy this month’s cases and see more next month.
Congenital disorders and chiropractic. Parents brought in their adopted four-year-old child with Aicardi syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that is present at birth, for subluxation based chiropractic care. The little girl had right ear deafness, blindness, cleft palate, spina bifida (incomplete closing of the spine), circulatory disorders of the lower extremities, hypertension, renal dysfunction, food allergies and esophageal reflux.
The chief complaint was irritability that included prolonged crying, general dislike of touch and self-injurious behavior (SIB).
The child had 46 visits over approximately 23 months. The chiropractor used a variety of chiropractic techniques to eliminate her subluxations. Her weight had remained unchanged for an entire year but during her time under care she increased in weight and also ceased to exhibit SIB, demonstrating greater periods of calm. Also noted was a decrease in stress in the life of the caregiver.
This case reveals an increased quality of life for a little girl with serious congenital problems. (5)
Juvenile idiopathic arthritis & improved immune function. A sixteen-year-old girl was medically diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. Medical care consisted solely of symptomatic relief with prescription drugs that had little effect.
She entered a chiropractic clinic for care. Her chief complaint was joint pain. The patient’s spine was analyzed and vertebral subluxations were found at spinal levels C1, C5, T4, L5 and sacrum. Cervical segments were adjusted using various chiropractic techniques. After six weeks of chiropractic care, the patient was considered in remission and taken off of her medications by her rheumatologist. (6)
Finding the root causes of cancer
Here’s a link to an interesting discussion on environmental causes of cancer and their effects on our genes: http://www.wnyc.org/story/finding-causes-cancer/
So many are doing this
Almost 70% of Americans are on at least one prescription drug and more than half take two. 20% of patients are on 5 or more prescription medications. The most commonly prescribed are antibiotics, antidepressants and pain-killing opioids. (7)
Chiropractic care teaches that your body is the world’s greatest drugstore and that you make every drug and chemical you need to be healthy – if your body is working properly.
Success Story
Migraines, Headaches, Exhaustion, Neck and Back Pain, Stomach Issues, Sinus Infections, Respiratory Issues, Allergies, and Colds.
I found myself overly tired every day. If I made it past 9:30pm I was lucky. I was physical and mentally exhausted all the time. I’ve suffered from migraines most of my life and found that I began getting headaches daily – small but very annoying. My stomach bothered me almost every time I ate. I got so used to feeling bad, that I forgot what it felt like to be “normal” (if there is such a thing). I thought I could possibly have a food allergy and got tested and was told there was nothing wrong. I had blood work to test for anemia, thyroid issues, deficiencies, etc. and everything came back fine. I suffered from numerous sinus infections, respiratory issues, allergies and colds. My sister had been seeing Dr. Horning for a little over a year and was always telling me to just go and see what he could do. In my mind I could not justify what a chiropractor could do for all those symptoms – in my mind they had nothing to do with my back.
I ended up with severe pain in my neck and back that was affecting my work day. I wasn’t able to sit at my desk for more than 30 minutes. Driving was painful, my mood was deteriorating, I just wanted to sit with a heating pad. I knew if I went to my primary all they would do was give me pills and I that’s not what I wanted. I finally broke down, called my sister and said give me his number. When I met with Dr. Horning initially all I really expected was for him to fix the pain in my neck and back. Anything else would have been a bonus. Little did I know. After reviewing my medical history and symptoms with Marie, I found that I was in pretty bad shape. You go through the motions and perform your day to day and just make do with who you are because you have to. At that moment it hit me, I should not be this way. Marie explained how the back ties into different aspects of health and Dr. Horning’s approach on healing. I will be honest, I was intrigued, it made so much sense – yet it seemed so farfetched. I agreed to treatment and started down the path to wellness.
Shortly into my treatment, Dr. Horning discovered that I had a bodily yeast infection and an allergy to eggs. I was put on strict diet and supplements for 21 days to detox my system and kill the yeast. By the middle of the second week I felt like a new person. I was no longer tired, I was no longer in pain, I was no longer grumpy, annoyed, hungry all the time…. I actually felt great. I was sleeping so much better and getting more from my day. My stomach issues completely disappears, my headaches gone. I decided to do some research on my own and looked further into my allergy test my primary performed and found that I did actually test positive to an egg allergy but they did not think the level was anything to be concerned with and didn’t mention it to me. I eat eggs, I get a headache – that simple. I don’t eat egg – no headache.
After I began reintroducing foods one by one into my diet, I found that certain things did bother me and I’ve continued to avoid them. Granted, there comes a day when you want a cupcake and you know it’s made with eggs and you eat it and you get a headache, but you did it to yourself and you accept it, deal with it and move on. I’ve also found certain things that bother my stomach and avoid them. I’ve found foods that cause my joints to swell, and I avoid them. It all comes down to clean living. Get exercise, eat right and listen to your body. Sometimes you need some expert advice to lead you down the right path. I can honestly say that if it weren’t for Dr. Horning I would probably be popping pills for my back, complaining to the world daily about how bad I felt and just going through the motions. I can’t thank him enough for what he has done and now have my six year old daughter getting treated.
Thank you again for everything, Kristen H.
